Tibet Promoted Energy Conservation Activities
A campaign themed as “National Action on Energy Sing” was held in Tibet Autonomous Region（TAR） during the National Energy Conservation Promotion Week from June 15 to 21, 2013. The campaign focused on promotion of energy-sing lamps and restriction for the using of plastic bags, publicizing experiences in energy conservation as well as advanced and operative technologies.

20 Tibetan kids with congenital heart disease from Ngari Prefecture went back home on June 11after receiving free surgeries in Shanghai. The oldest patient is 17 years old and the youngest one is only 2 years old among the 20 patients.
Handicraft Exhibition Held in Lhasa
A handicraft exhibition of Tibetan intangible culture heritage held in Lhasa during the 3-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday from June 10 to 12. The exhibition included a large number of Tibetan handicrafts on display and cultural inheritors’ handicraft making at the scene.
First Tibetan Herbal Medicine Standards Issued in Tibet
The Tibetan Herbal Medicines Standards of Tibet, fi rst of its kind in Tibet was issued in Lhasa on June 3, 2013. The standards he established local pharmaceutical standards for 101 kinds of commonly used Tibetan herbal medicines without national standards previously.
World’s Longest High Altitude Tunnel Completed
After 6-year hard work, the second section of Xinguanjiao Tunnel, which belongs to the second line of Xining-Golmud railway of Qinghai-Tibet railway, was completed succesully on June 18, 2013. With a total length of 32.16 km, the extra-long Xinguanjiao Tunnel is the world’s longest railway tunnel at high altitude.
